2006 Rose Bowl: Texas vs USC, featured on “A Football Life”

The 2006 Rose Bowl featured two undefeated teams. Two undefeated teams that were ranked no. 1 and no. 2 for the entire season. USC vs Texas. The game lived up to the extensive hype. Former Trojan linebacker Brian Cushing was talking about the game on Sunday after the Texans’ season finale and said it was the greatest game in college football history – and he was on the losing side of it.

The story of the 2006 Rose Bowl between No. 1 USC and No. 2 Texas will be subject for an episode of A Football Life, The first time an episode has been dedicated to college football. The one-hour, NFL Films-produced documentary focuses on Texas’ thrilling 41-38 victory, the season-long anticipation which preceded it, and the futures of quarterbacks Matt Leinart and Vince Young.

The 2006 Rose Bowl: A Football Life features sitdown interviews with Leinart, Young, former Texas head coach Mack Brown, former USC running back LenDale White, former USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, actor and Texas alumnus Matthew McConaughey, musician and USC fan Snoop Dogg, and more.

The episode premieres on Friday, January 2 at 8:00 PM CT on NFL Network. Here’s the trailer:
