New Rockets Clutch City trailer released

While the sting of the Rockets playoff exit certainly has not worn off yet, the NBA released a new trailer for their latest documentary Clutch City all about the Houston Rockets two championship runs in the mid-90’s. The documentary features interviews with Rudy Tomjanovich and many of the Rockets players, including Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Robert Horry, Kenny Smith, Sam Cassell, Vernon Maxwell and Mario Elie, as they reflect on the team’s championships in 1994 and 1995.

It will premiere on Monday, June 8 at 8 p.m. CT on NBA TV, the evening after game two of the NBA Finals. There will also be a 30-minute show preceding the documentary with Robert Horry and other guests adding more thoughts on the Rockets championships. Rockets: Legacy of Bigs

It’s been a couple of weeks since the Rockets introduced Dwight Howard as the latest in their Legacy of Bigs. A huge banner was unfurled down the parking garage that blazing hot afternoon at the Howard fan rally, depicting Howard, Hakeem Olajuwon, Yao Ming, Moses Malone, Elvin Hayes and Ralph Sampson in the long line of great Rockets centers. That same day Rockets TV announcer Bill Worrell sat down with Dwight, Yao, Dream and Ralph along with Clyde Drexler and Calvin Murphy. Team owner Leslie Alexander also sits in for the discussion about the Rockets past, present and future.

The Legacy of Bigs program premieres tonight at 6:30. Click this link for a quick preview.
